Experience required:

More than 3 years working experience as an Oracle DBA (Oracle 8i, 9i, 10g& 11g) on Windows Platform, UNIX and Linux environments.
Minimum certification of OCA.
Preferred OCP with specialisation in RAC, Dataguard and ERP Technical etc.
Salary – Market related.

You will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle software and related products;
  • Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures;
  • Take care of the Database design and implementation;
  • Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges);
  • Database tuning and performance monitoring;
  • Application tuning and performance monitoring;
  • Setup and maintain documentation and standards;
  • Plan growth and changes (capacity planning);
  • Work as part of a team and provide 24/7 support when required;
  • Do general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams;
  • Develop scripts, cronjobs etc. Database consolidation for various database for monthly reports;
  • Managing replication services for various databases;
  • Configuring, monitoring daily backup Health checks;
  • Database restore and recovery;
  • Troubleshooting application problems related to the database;
  • Data imports and exports;
  • Good working experience with Oracle RAC and High Availability concepts (Replication, log shipping);
  • Drafting Disaster Recovery Plan documentation and Drafting Policy Based Management documentation;
  • Weekly and Monthly feedback on status of Database environment.

MS SQL Server Database Administrator

Experience required:

More than 3 years DBA working experience with Microsoft SQL Server Databases (SQL 2000/2005/2008) on Windows 2000/2003/2008 Server, Windows XP & Windows 7 environments.
Certification on MS SQL Server 2005 – 2008 is preferred or MSTC plus exposure to SSIS.

  • Evaluate MSSQL / related products
  • Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
  • Take care of the Database design and implementation

Linux Systems Engineer

Essential Skills

  • Grade 12
  • IT Qualification
  • Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Linux and VMware/KVM.
  • SAN/NAS experience
  • Storage pools and assigning storage to hosts
  • Nagios/Zabbix experience
  • RHCSA/RHCE certification

You will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Installing and configuring DRBD block replication.
  • Installation, implementation, and configuration as well as ongoing support of the Linux Infrastructure.
  • Create virtual machines on VMWare as well as bare-metal with the applicable distribution.
  • Linux Patch Level management.
  • Experience in Firewall, and security enhanced Linux (Selinux).
  • Creating and managing KVMs.
  • Creating and managing VMware VMs.
  • Install and configure virtual machines through cockpit virtual machine manager.
  • Evaluate and maintain information security throughout the Linux infrastructure.
  • Converting VMware VMDK disks to KVM’s qcow2 disk formats.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and monitor the Zabbix monitoring tool.
  • Ensure the highest level of infrastructure availability.
  • Maintain backup and redundancy strategies.
  • Provide 3rd level support.
  • Work with developers to transition applications from one platform to the other, and that includes from physical to virtual environment.
  • Ensure technical documentation exists for all systems to include inventory and patch level of all system, and that it is kept up to date.
  • Install, support and maintain OpenVPN server and clients.
  • Install and configure Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Install and configure MSSQL replication.
  • Installing and configuration of AlwaysOn Availability Groups (AAG).
  • Install and maintain MSSQL Server patch level.
  • Co-ordinate with the change management teams to prepare the MSSQL servers for patching.
  • Additionally, involved in patch planning, co-ordination and execution of recent patching cycle.
  • Install and configure Monitoring tools such as Zabbix, SolarWinds monitoring
