Oracle Database Administrator

Experience required:

More than 3 years working experience as an Oracle DBA (Oracle 8i, 9i, 10g& 11g) on Windows Platform, UNIX and Linux environments.
Minimum certification of OCA.
Preferred OCP with specialisation in RAC, Dataguard and ERP Technical etc.
Salary – Market related.

You will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle software and related products;
  • Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures;
  • Take care of the Database design and implementation;
  • Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges);
  • Database tuning and performance monitoring;
  • Application tuning and performance monitoring;
  • Setup and maintain documentation and standards;
  • Plan growth and changes (capacity planning);
  • Work as part of a team and provide 24/7 support when required;
  • Do general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams;
  • Develop scripts, cronjobs etc. Database consolidation for various database for monthly reports;
  • Managing replication services for various databases;
  • Configuring, monitoring daily backup Health checks;
  • Database restore and recovery;
  • Troubleshooting application problems related to the database;
  • Data imports and exports;
  • Good working experience with Oracle RAC and High Availability concepts (Replication, log shipping);

  • Weekly and Monthly feedback on status of Database environment.

 

MS SQL Server Database Administrator

Experience required:

More than 3 years DBA working experience with Microsoft SQL Server Databases (SQL 2000/2005/2008) on Windows 2000/2003/2008 Server, Windows XP & Windows 7 environments.
Certification on MS SQL Server 2005 – 2008 is preferred or MSTC plus exposure to SSIS.
Salary – Market Related.

You will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Evaluate MSSQL / related products
  • Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
  • Take care of the Database design and implementation

Specialist: Business Intelligence

Job Mission / Objective:

To create complex and technical reports for business that will measure specific outcomes, add value to business owners (such as dashboards, daily operational reports, performance ratios etc.) and assist in providing useful and relevant information that will enable informed and meaningful decision-making. These reports will then be maintained by staff with less extensive report writing skills.

Experience required:

Academic Knowledge: Minimum a university degree preferably in IT
Work Experience: Must have BI reporting knowledge, minimum 3 years and must be able to design complex reports in code (i.e. we are moving away from Excel reporting where possible). Visual Basic capability and experience, SQL experience and data modelling experience will be critical.
Skills / Specialized Know How: BI program knowledge (Cognos, SAP,etc.), advanced Excel knowledge, Visual basic, SQL, banking product knowledge, detailed and extensive report writing skills.
Competencies: Understand Business needs for information and how to translate this into meaningful reports that will assist business in meeting their measurable goals. Creating reporting structures to facilitate and track business progress against measurable outcomes. Good people skills and the ability to interact with business owners with the aim of providing them with BI that will enable them to make informed decisions that will ultimately lead to increased profitability and efficiencies across the business. Ability to create complex reports and then hand them over to more junior staff for running and maintenance of these reports.

You will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Scope and create complex new reports and data models for SABA.
  • Enhance existing reports.
  • Create and monitor dashboard.
  • Actively look for ways to assist business with decision making enablers (i.e. reports, models etc.)
  • Create models for new products to calculate margins, probabilities etc.
  • Sit down with business owners to determine their needs, determine how best to meet these needs
    and streamline their information processes.
  • Update Sharepoint with any new reports created.
  • Currently no staff directly below this position. Interaction with business owners and report users will
    be regular so these relationships needs to be managed.
