RDB Consulting positions for growth with investment by Webcom

July 2009

RDB Consulting, an ICT outsource and consulting company, has made a strategic move to expand into new markets, entering a shareholding agreement with The Webcom Group (Webcom), an end-to-end ICT products and solutions company with an established stronghold in the financial services and government sectors.

Says Jaroslav Cerny, MD of RDB Consulting: “RDB Consulting is gearing itself for growth and the investment by The Webcom Group will allow us maximise this strategy. Webcom and RDB Consulting have worked together in the past on synergistic projects where the similarity in company cultures and the identification of complementary solutions and services made the investment an attractive proposition to both organisations.”

The agreement will enable both organisations to increase their footprint and realise new opportunities by leveraging off their respective customer bases. Of particular significance are Webcom’s clients in the banking sector which include some of the top financial services companies, including international banks.

RDB Consulting provides professional Database, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Business Intelligence (BI) and operating system (OS) support, as well as network and security maintenance, consulting, project management and solutions architecture.

Notes Cerny: “RDB Consulting specialises in ICT outsourcing and consulting, bringing established database and OS skills to Webcom’s existing successful end-to-end ICT products and solutions offering. This will allow Webcom to extend and enhance its current value proposition to the global marketplace, while concurrently providing RDB with the opportunity to expand its offering into new industry sectors and geographies.”

Glen Miller, CEO of The Webcom Group, agrees: “RDB Consulting provides us with the expert database and operating system skills we require to expand our forte. It made complete sense to invest a 50 percent stake in an organisation that has RDB’s vast experience, strong resource base and impressive customer reference list. We look forward to our relationship with RDB Consulting, which believe will be mutually beneficial in terms of business growth and skills cross-pollination.”

RDB Consulting has recently undergone a comprehensive branding exercise, redeveloping its branding in line with its now expanded business offering, which includes networking and security maintenance services.
